Blessy addresses Aadujeevitham controversy: 'Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life' premiered worldwide on March 28, 2024, and has been met with praise for its engaging storyline and the excellent performances of the main actors. So far, it has earned over Rs 75 crores at the box office, making it the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024. However, the movie has landed into an unexpected controversy. There were rumors that the movie included a scene with intimate interaction between Prithviraj and a goat, but the Censor Board removed it. A week after the film's release, director Blessy clarified in an interview that these rumors were false and that no such scene was filmed.

In a conversation with Manorama News, Blessy said, “This is an unnecessary controversy. I’m not sure if someone is deliberately creating these rumours. I hope the audience will distance themselves from such rumours.”

He further added, “During the scripting stage, discussions about this scene arose. The way Benyamin wrote the scene is quite subtle. But, for me to film such a scene is not easy. However, that wasn’t my main concern. I could have shot the scene in various ways, but I was thinking about Najeeb. Wouldn’t he feel guilt afterwards? Perhaps the Najeeb in the book is without guilt, but my Najeeb is not like that.”

About Aadujeevitham

'Aadujeevitham' is a movie based on the popular Malayalam novel of the same name, written by Benyamin in 2008. The novel tells the true story of Najeeb, a Malayali migrant worker who, like many others, was forced into slavery as a goatherd in the deserts of Saudi Arabia by native Arabs. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jimmy Jean-Louis, and K. R. Gokul in the main roles, supported by Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby, Amala Paul, and Shobha Mohan in other important roles.

However, he soon discovers that his reality is far from what he expected, as he finds himself trapped in a harsh and oppressive situation, forced to work as a goat herder in the vast desert."
