Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan Accused Of Borrowing From Thaai Naadu: Shah Rukh Khan's latest film 'Jawan' has made an impressive debut at the box office. Directed by Atlee and featuring Shah Rukh Khan in six distinct roles, the film has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film on its opening day, earning a worldwide gross of Rs 129 crore. Despite the film's popularity on social media, numerous fans have observed a striking resemblance between its storyline and that of another film. Many have pointed out that the plot of 'Jawan' bears a significant resemblance to the 1989 Tamil release, 'Thaai Naadu.'

A user took to microblogging site X and claimed that Atlee had replicated the storyline of a 1989 Tamil movie, 'Thaai Naadu' (meaning "motherland"), which featured Sathyaraj in a dual role similar to Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of both a father and son in 'Jawan.' The user shared the poster of the 1989 film, directed by R. Aravindraj, and captioned it as 'Jawaan Original Tamil Version - 1989.' Many users have since commented, asserting that 'Jawan' appears to have borrowed elements from the 1989 film. Some have even expressed disappointment with 'Jawan,' stating that it seems to be a combination of various South Indian films and lacks originality.

This is not the first instance where Atlee has faced allegations of plagiarism. Similar controversies arose in the past, notably with the release of Atlee's 2019 film 'Bigil.' Telugu short-filmmaker Nandi Chinni Reddy accused director Atlee of appropriating the essence of his film, 'Slum Soccer.'

Atlee's 2017 film starring Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu was also subjected to accusations of copying the storyline from Rajinikanth's ‘Moondru Mugam.’ Furthermore, during the release of his 2016 film 'Theri,' Atlee faced accusations of replicating elements from Vijaykanth's movie 'Chatriyan.'

In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the cast of 'Jawan' includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, and more. The film was distributed in theatres with versions available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
