The San Francisco-based singer, who is rumoured to be dating Bollywood star Disha Patani, was filmed making a defiant gesture toward photographers during a high-profile industry event. The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, during the wedding reception of singer Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanon (sister of actress Kriti Sanon). While the event was a celebratory occasion, the interaction between the Stay singer and the media has left the internet divided.

Talwiinder arrived at the reception alongside a group that included Disha Patani, Mouni Roy, and his close friend Knav. Although rumours of his relationship with Disha have been circulating since they were spotted together in Udaipur, the pair made a conscious effort to maintain their distance in front of the cameras, avoiding any joint poses. The tension peaked as the group exited a lift. While Mouni and Disha walked ahead, Talwiinder and Knav remained behind. Footage shows the singer looking visibly uncomfortable under the glare of the camera flashes. In a sudden moment of defiance, Talwiinder flashed his middle finger at the paparazzi before transitioning into several ironic poses. Talwiinder's reaction has triggered a wave of reactions across social media, with fans and critics clashing over the ethics of celebrity privacy. Many netizens argued that the singer was justified in his frustration. Fans pointed out that Talwiinder, who often performs with a mask or maintains a mysterious persona, had his "true face" exposed by the paps during the Udaipur trip. One user commented, "Give the people their own privacy. It is not your business who's dating whom... they are also human beings just like all of us." Some users called out the media outlets for posting the video despite being insulted. One comment read, "You guys don't have self respect? After insulting you posted it."
