BTS is the only Kpop act to receive Grammy nominations. However, two other very popular groups aespa and Stray Kids have earned Grammy recognition, marking a significant milestone for Kpop in the global music scene. While BTS continues to lead the way with their own nominations, these two groups have made their mark through collaborations, solidifying Kpop's growing influence.

On November 8, 2024, the Recording Academy announced the nominees for the upcoming Grammy Awards and while no Kpop group was nominated directly in major categories, aespa and Stray Kids have still found their way into the spotlight.

aespa’s Grammy Connection

aespa is featured in the album Djesse Vol. 4 by Jacob Collier, which has been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. The song Over You, which includes aespa alongside Chris Martin, connects the girl group to a prestigious Grammy nomination. This collaboration marks a unique moment for aespa, showcasing its international reach.

Stray Kids’ Contribution to a Grammy-Nominated Album

Stray Kids also made their presence felt with their track Slash, which is part of the Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack album. This album has been nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Though Stray Kids was not nominated directly, their involvement in this project adds to the growing recognition of Kpop artists in global music circles.

BTS: The Trailblazers of Kpop at the Grammys

BTS continues to be the only Kpop group with direct Grammy nominations. Their breakthrough moment came in 2021 with the nomination of their chart-topping hit Dynamite for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The group earned further nominations in the following years, including for songs like Butter and their collaboration with Coldplay, My Universe.

Although aespa and Stray Kids did not receive direct Grammy nominations this year, their involvement in major projects shows the growing influence of Kpop in the global music industry. Other Kpop artists, including Lisa, TWICE, Jungkook, ATEEZ and Stray Kids, also submitted songs for consideration, but none secured a nomination.
