Ranbir Kapoor is one of the big names in the Bollywood industry. He proved his versatility by playing different roles on the silver screen. The actor will be again seen in a different avatar as he has been cast as Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The movie will also feature Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. As soon as the cast of the much-anticipated film was announced, fans showcased their excitement over social media. However, there is a certain section of social media that criticised the casting of the movie. Now, breaking the silence on why Ranbir Kapoor was cast in Ramayana, Casting director Mukesh Chhabra spilled the beans. He stated that Ranbir has calmness in his face like Lord Rama.
In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast The Ranveer Show, Chhabra said, “Uske chehre pe calmness hai, woh toh chahiye thi na...Nitesh (Tiwari) ne bahot pehle hi soch lia tha unko. Ye bahot sahi decision hai. Wo aapko maloom chalega film aane ke baad. (He has a calmness on his face. It was needed for the film. Nitesh Tiwari thought about casting him quite earlier. It is a great decision and the audience will realize after watching the film).”

Nitesh signed an actor who'd been a womaniser
Ram was a one woman man, he respected his elders & hence he was called "Maryada Purushottam"
Whereas Ranbir had multiple affairs & stayed separately

Apparently, Ramayana is a two-part movie and the casting of the sequel is on as per the casting director. Chhabra further mentioned that he chooses many big actors to play characters which is the opposite of their off-screen persona.
As per reports, the Hanuman spin-off is likely to be in the works. The reports suggest that it will be part of the epic saga Ramayana.
Ramayana also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman in key roles. The mythological drama is scheduled to be released in theatres in 2025.
