The film, which delves into one of the most controversial chapters of Indian history, is set to hit theatres on January 17, 2025, just days before Republic Day.

Her uncanny resemblance, combined with her mastery of Gandhi’s voice, body language and mannerisms, has been lauded as a standout performance.

The trailer also highlights key historical figures, including Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as a young Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Mahima Chaudhary as Pupul Jayakar. The late Satish Kaushik appears as Jagjivan Ram in his final performance, adding to the film’s emotional weight.

Kangana Ranaut shared her thoughts on the film’s journey, saying, "After a long journey filled with challenges, I’m glad that Emergency will finally hit the big screen. This story isn’t just about a controversial leader; it delves into themes that remain profoundly relevant today. Releasing near Republic Day, it’s a perfect time to reflect on our Constitution’s resilience."

Producer Umesh KR Bansal echoed these sentiments, stating, "As we mark 50 years since the 1975 Emergency, this film is a reflection on the resilience of democracy and a tribute to those who fought to protect it. Emergency challenges audiences to question, engage and remember the cost of freedom."

With a stellar cast and music by Sanchit Balhara and G.V. Prakash Kumar, Emergency is produced by Zee Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Renu Pitti. After facing many legal troubles and delays in 2024, it will finally be released on January 17, 2025.
