Fahadh Faasil garnered widespread acclaim for his ability to portray complex characters with depth and authenticity. Recently seen in Aavesham, he made his acting debut in 2002 with the film 'Kaiyethum Doorath' but gained recognition with his performances in movies like '22 Female Kottayam,' 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram,' 'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum,' and 'Trance.' While he is considered one of the most talented, versatile and influential actors in contemporary Malayalam cinema, Fahadh broke silence on staying away from religion or religious topics in his films.

The actor confessed that the sole subject he prefers to steer clear of in his films is 'religion.' Reflecting on the box office disappointment of his 2020 film 'Trance,' he told Galatta Plus, "I have my reservations about dealing with religion in Kerala. I don’t think people want to hear the harsh reality, if I may say. They want to be entertained. "

"Trance lacked the entertainment factor. There was a lot of awareness and things like that, but the entertainment factor was taken away from the film at some point. That’s where we failed. Having said that, a corrected second half of Trance would make a lot of difference. But I wouldn’t touch religion for a while in Kerala," he added.

Directed and produced by Anwar Rasheed, Fahadh's 'Trance' stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Nazriya Nazim, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Soubin Shahir. While the psychological thriller earned praise from critics, it proved unsuccessful in turning a profit at the box office.

Fahadh Fassil's work front

Fahadh is celebrated for his nuanced portrayal of characters dealing with various societal issues and psychological conflicts. Additionally, he has ventured into production with his company Fahadh Faasil and Friends. The actor is currently earning widespread acclaim for his portrayal in 'Aavesham,' which has emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, this action comedy also features Mithun Jai Shankar, Roshan Shanavas, Midhutty, Sajin Gopu, Mansoor Ali Khan, and others.

Fahadh Faasil's upcoming projects include 'Pushpa: The Rule', 'Vettaiyan', and 'Maareesan'.
