Rajinikanth is all set to star in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s highly anticipated film, Coolie, generating significant buzz among fans eager for this collaboration. The team has reportedly begun shooting and is expected to release more information soon. While Fahadh is in Chennai for dubbing Rajinikanth’s upcoming film 'Vettaiyan,' directed by TJ Gnanavel, recently, it was revealed that the makers approached him for a key role in the Coolie. However, due to scheduling conflicts, Fahadh had to decline the offer.
According to reports, the makers of Coolie met with Fahadh Faasil and discussed the project in detail, but Fahadh declined to sign on, citing his current busy schedule with multiple projects.
About Coolie
In the upcoming film Coolie, Rajinikanth is set to portray the role of a don, as suggested by the announcement teaser. The movie's narrative is poised against the backdrop of gold smuggling. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film stands as a standalone project and will not be integrated into the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which includes films like 'Kaithi' and 'Leo.'
Besides Rajinikanth, the film features Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music. Coolie is slated for release next year.
Fahadh Faasil's films
Fahadh Faasil recently mentioned his role in the Tamil film 'Vettaiyan,' where he plays a comedic character, distinct from the typical villain roles in Tamil cinema. Superstar Rajinikanth portrays a righteous cop in the film, marking their first on-screen collaboration and raising anticipation among fans. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Vettaiyan boasts a strong cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, and is produced by Lyca Productions, set for release on October 10.
Apart from Vettaiyan, Fahadh Faasil has several other projects lined up including Pushpa 2 alongside Allu Arjun. He has Don’t Trouble the Trouble, Oxygen, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira and Bougainvillea in his kitty.
