Yami Gautam is currently basking in the success of her latest released movie Article 370. The story revolves around a young field agent who is picked from the Prime Minister's office for a top-secret mission to crack down on terrorism and corruption. The movie's success journey at the box office persists, achieving a significant milestone by surpassing the Rs 50 crore mark within a mere span of 10 days since its release. The film's remarkable performance continued into its second weekend, where it garnered an impressive Rs 14.85 crore in earnings, thereby elevating its cumulative total to an impressive Rs 50.45 crore.
'I Have Not Thought Of Any Award': Yami Gautam
Amid thunderous box office response, fans have been praising Yami Gautam for her role in the film. According to Yami, she read some comments in which fans demanded a national award for her. Going LIVE on her social media account, Yami said, “I am reading such kind of comments daily but there is nothing like this on my mind.”
“The only thing that was in my mind was that I want to do justice to the real life character I am playing and we are making a film on a very important subject. I have not thought of any award and I am happy that my fans and the audiences are happy with my work and the film and this is my only reward,” she further added.
About Article 370
In the storyline of 'Article 370', the focus is on Zoobi Haksar, portrayed by Yami Gautam, who takes on the role of a local agent undertaking a secretive mission. The movie is situated during the turbulent times of the 2016 unrest, where Zoobi's endeavors are depicted in unraveling the economic structures fueling conflict in the region and taking a stand against terrorism by abolishing Article 370. What's noteworthy is that these actions are carried out without the use of violence.
The movie's release precedes the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding to the heightened curiosity among the public regarding its depiction of the repeal of Article 370.
