The film Fast X, featuring an ensemble cast including Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Jason Statham, John Cena, and many others, had a fairly successful opening day at the box office, generating double-digit collections.

On its first day, the movie earned approximately Rs 12.5 crores, establishing itself as the highest-grossing opener of the franchise in India in terms of net collections, although it fell short of the gross numbers achieved by Furious 7.

These figures are quite decent, especially considering that the franchise is no longer at its peak. Since it was released on a Thursday, the pace of audience engagement was relatively slower, but on Friday it picked up pace and earned Rs 13.5 crores.

As per reports, its total collection now stands at Rs 26 crore and in the upcoming weekend the action flick is expected to perform better. If all goes well, the film's cumulative earnings over the four-day period could reach around Rs 60 crores.

The pre-release bookings for Fast X were promising, and the film has performed as anticipated. While it is still early to make definitive statements, a minimum expectation is for Fast X to surpass Rs 100 crore in net collections in India.

Notably, the film is garnering significant earnings from its dubbed versions, indicating a broad audience reach beyond metropolitan areas where English-language films are predominantly favoured.

Furthermore, within just four days, Fast X is poised to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film of the year thus far, surpassing the earnings of movies like Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3 and John Wick 4, both of which have accumulated or are expected to accumulate slightly over Rs 50 crores throughout their entire run.

In terms of audience attendance, Fast X seems to have sold approximately 6.25 lakh tickets on its opening day. Comparatively, Fast And Furious 6 sold 6.75 lakh tickets, Furious 7 sold 11 lakh tickets, The Fate Of The Furious (including premieres) sold 13 lakh tickets, and Hobbs And Shaw sold 7.25 lakh tickets.

However, the footfalls for F9 are not accounted for due to its late release and fragmented distribution. Currently, the global opening weekend earnings for Fast X are projected to exceed $200 million, which may not be exceptional for a franchise like Fast And Furious but still stands as a decent performance.

Fast X Jagran English Review

Leterrier's accomplishment in bringing together a colossal, intricately woven, worldwide, mind-boggling blockbuster is commendable. The film, with a runtime of 140 minutes, truly lives up to its title: it surpasses its previous editions in terms of speed, being ten times faster, and it also outshines the majority of them in terms of quality.

Of course, for the dedicated fanbase that propelled this franchise to become one of the largest in the world, Fast X manages to meet the anticipated criteria of providing enjoyable and over-the-top entertainment. However, at its essence, the movie epitomises a level of absurdity that is hard to surpass.
