National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata. This came after he complained of breathing difficulty and mild chest pain. According to sources, Srijit Mukherji was brought to the hospital around 12:30 am. The initial medical tests were conducted and the reports are yet awaited. Srijit's health scare unfolded amid the impressive box office run of his movie Killbill Society which hit the theatres on April 10, 2025. The movie stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Koushani Mukherjee in key roles.
Mukherji had plans to engage with the audience through theater visits over the weekend, but unfortunately, these appearances have been canceled due to his recent hospitalization, leaving fans disappointed but wishing him a speedy recovery.
Killbill Society has been produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The title of the movie has been inspired by the Hemlock Society, based in Santa Monica, US. The film was announced in November 2011, while the title was announced in December 2011. Principal photography commenced in January 2012 and wrapped in March 2012.

The movie revolves around the story of Meghna who has been reeling from personal losses and heartbreak. She considers ending her life but instead joins the Hemlock Society, a group that teaches suicide methods. During the training, she undergoes a transformation, learning to appreciate life's value. The film ends satirically with her ex-fiancé joining the Hemlock Society.
