When BTS' Suga Confessed His Battle With Depression: Suga, the rapper, producer, and songwriter from the immensely popular K-Pop group BTS, is currently on a global tour to promote his latest album D-Day. In a recent interview, he candidly discussed the reasons behind his current state of happiness.

Suga, who has openly discussed his struggles with depression in the past, expressed that his happiness stems from the overwhelming support of his fans, known as ARMY. During a recent performance, he shared his heartfelt sentiments, stating, "When I was on stage, I saw everyone's face and it made me very happy. It made me realise that's the reason I'm alive." These words were spoken in Korean and translated by an on-stage translator accompanying the musician on his tour.

In a previous interview in 2021, Suga had opened up about the cyclical nature of his depression, stating, "I'm comfortable now and feeling good, but those sorts of negative emotions come and go. So, it's almost like cold weather. It may come back in a cycle over a year, year and a half. It's very encouraging. I think, for anybody, these emotions are not something that need to be hidden. They need to be discussed and expressed. Whatever emotions that I may be feeling, I'm always ready to express them now, as I was before."

He candidly conveys the highs, lows, and challenging aspects of one's First Love in his solo track, which is included in BTS' second album, Wings. Suga also uses the song to express his deep passion for music. However, his parents were initially hesitant about his chosen path as a rapper and would even tear up his lyrics, as they were unfamiliar with and did not comprehend the genre. Yet, rather than discouraging him, this only served as motivation for the 30-year-old international sensation to create even more music.

"My parents didn't understand rap. They are a generation apart from myself, and they never listened to rap; it wasn't part of the music that they listened to. So it's only natural they were against what I was doing," Suga explained to Rolling Stone, adding, "And, of course, being a musician is a very unstable profession as well. So, I can understand perfectly why my parents were against what I was doing. But I think that motivated me or helped me work harder because there was something that I now had to prove. I had to show my parents it was possible. So, it drove and motivated me to work even harder."

Suga's latest song Amygdala is a heartfelt and concise track from his album D-Day that captures these emotions with sincerity. In the song, Suga reflected on his past accidents and his family's hardships, highlighting the impact they have had on him. While Suga is currently on tour, his fellow BTS members J-Hope and Jin are fulfilling their mandatory military training obligations. Additionally, RM has recently released a new single and is making preparations for his own military service.
