Friday Releases: This week, don’t miss Yudhra, Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam and the Kareena Kapoor Film Festival among others, all showcasing an exciting array of films. Whether you’re in the mood for intense thrillers, supernatural dramas, animation, or classic favourites, the theaters have something for everyone on Cinema Lovers Day (September 20), with ticket prices starting at just ₹99!

Yudhra

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, known for Mom (2017), the movie features Siddhant Chaturvedi in a fresh and dynamic role that will leave you amazed. The story is gripping: Yudhra’s world is shattered when a merciless drug cartel murders his police officer parents. Rather than wallowing in grief, he embarks on a relentless quest to track down the kingpin, Firoze, and dismantle the cartel, regardless of the cost. Siddhant underwent rigorous training in MMA, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu to deliver some truly spectacular action sequences. The cast adds to the excitement, with Malavika Mohanan making her impressive Hindi cinema debut alongside seasoned actors like Gajraj Rao, Shilpa Shukla, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun, and Raghav Juyal, who portrays a chilling villain. Co-written by Farhan Akhtar and Shridhar Raghavan, Yudhra promises a raw and adrenaline-pumping experience you won’t want to miss.

Transformers One

Transformers One takes us back to the origins of the legendary feud between Optimus Prime and Megatron, revealing the untold story of their transition from close friends to bitter rivals. Based on Hasbro’s beloved Transformers toy line, the film delves into how their pivotal choices shaped the fate of their home planet, Cybertron. Directed by Josh Cooley (known for Toy Story 4), this animated sci-fi action film boasts an impressive voice cast. Chris Hemsworth voices a young Optimus Prime, also known as Orion Pax, while Brian Tyree Henry gives life to Megatron (D-16).

Scarlett Johansson portrays Elita-1, and Keegan-Michael Key voices B-127. This film marks the Transformers franchise's return to its animated roots for the first time since The Transformers: The Movie (1986). Dive into the origins of Cybertron’s legends in this must-see animated adventure!


Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam

In the film, Meera aka Dhvani Bhanushali finds herself on the brink of an unwanted marriage, prompting her to take charge of her destiny by fleeing on her wedding day. During her hurried escape, she encounters a serial wedding crasher (Aashim Gulati), who, albeit reluctantly, decides to help her. As they navigate a whirlwind of chaotic situations, an unexpected connection develops between them. Meanwhile, Meera's anxious family, including her mother, played Supriya Pilgaonkar, embarks on a frantic search to find her. The real chaos unfolds when everyone mistakenly believes she has eloped with the wedding crasher, leading to a series of comedic misunderstandings and surprising twists.

Written by Laxman Utekar and Rishi Virmani and directed by Saurabh Dasgupta, this lighthearted drama offers a delightful mix of emotions, humor, and fun. With a talented supporting cast featuring Rakesh Bedi, Sonali Sachdev, Rajesh Sharma, and Vikram Kochhar, the film explores themes of love, family, and the unexpected turns life takes.

Celebrating 25 Years of Kareena Kapoor Khan: Film Festival

From September 20th to 27th, the Kareena Kapoor Khan Film Festival celebrates her remarkable 25-year journey in cinema. This week-long event invites fans to enjoy some of her most iconic films on the big screen. The lineup includes classics such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Karan Johar), Jab We Met (Imtiaz Ali), Omkara (Vishal Bhardwaj), Asoka (Santosh Sivan), and Chameli (Sudhir Mishra). ANR 100: Celebrating the Legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao

The ANR 100 film festival is celebrating the legacy of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao by showcasing his timeless classics. This festival features some of his most iconic films, reflecting decades of cinematic excellence. Highlights include the unforgettable romance of Devadasu (1953) directed by Vedantam Raghavayya, the epic drama Mayabazar (1957) by K.V. Reddy, and beloved hits like Gundamma Katha (1962) by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao and Premabhishekam (1981) by Dasari Narayana Rao.

Audiences will also have the opportunity to enjoy notable films such as Bharya Bharthalu (1961) by K. Pratyagatma, Doctor Chakravarthi (1964) and Sudigundalu (1968) directed by Adurthi Subba Rao, and Prem Nagar (1971) by K.S. Prakash Rao. The lineup concludes with ANR’s final masterpiece, Manam (2014), directed by Vikram Kumar. Mahanagar (re-release)

Mahanagar, a masterpiece by Satyajit Ray, returns to theaters this week with a 2K restoration. Set in 1950s Kolkata, it follows Arati (Madhabi Mukherjee), a middle-class housewife challenging societal norms by taking a job amid financial strain. Her journey toward independence unfolds against familial resistance, highlighting evolving gender roles. Originally released in 1963, the film remains relevant today.
