Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Collection Day 7: The 2018 Indian folklore horror film Tumbba" has experienced a remarkable resurgence at the box office following its 2024 re-release in India, where it has already surpassed ₹13 crore and continues to grow. This newfound success stands in stark contrast to its initial performance six years ago, solidifying its status as a cult classic.
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and featuring Sohum Shah, Tumbbad is enjoying impressive results in its re-release. In its first week back in theaters, the film generated ₹12.70 crore net, surpassing its original box office collection from 2018. The film's popularity is evident as it is trending strongly during the weekdays, even surpassing its opening day earnings on both Monday and Tuesday. Anticipation is building for a further boost in collections this coming Friday, thanks to National Cinema Day.
Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Report
On its second Friday, Tumbbad is set to earn more than it did on its re-release's opening day. The comparison becomes even more striking when looking back at its original opening day gross, as the current collections are projected to be nearly four times higher. This Sohum Shah-starrer exemplifies a film that was ahead of its time; what was once considered a box office failure has transformed into a major success thanks to its re-release. The resurgence has challenged previous judgments, and if the film's earnings can match its budget, it could easily be labeled a hit.
Tumbbad is enjoying a strong box office performance, having earned ₹13.44 crore within just seven days of its re-release. On Day 7, it added ₹1.33 crore, reflecting impressive audience turnout.
The film's daily earnings since its return have shown consistent growth: ₹1.65 crore on Day 1, ₹2.65 crore on Day 2, ₹3.04 crore on Day 3, ₹1.69 crore on Day 4, ₹1.66 crore on Day 5, ₹1.42 crore on Day 6, and ₹1.33 crore on Day 7. This sustained interest underscores the film’s exceptional storytelling and stunning visuals, which continue to resonate with viewers.
