Trisha Krishnan-Mansoor Ali Khan controversy: Amid severe backlash, popular villain Mansoor Ali Khan publicly apologised to fellow actor Trisha Krishnan after making derogatory comments about her. The controversy escalated to the extent of police booking Mansoor Ali Khan on charges of sexual harassment and intent to outrage a woman's modesty. Trisha strongly condemned his remarks on social media, asserting her decision to never share screen space with him. The conflict began when Mansoor Ali Khan's expectations of bedroom scenes with Trisha in their film 'Leo,' wasn't fulfilled.

Here's what exactly happened

Mansoor controversially highlighted the absence of rape scenes for villains in contemporary Tamil films, drawing widespread criticism. In one of his interviews, the actor hoped to have a rape scene in 'Leo' starring Trisha just like he had in older films with stars like Khushboo and Roja. "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule" he had purportedly said.

Trisha's Reaction to Mansoor's Comment

Responding to Mansoor's remarks, Trisha wrote, "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind."

Mansoor Booked

The National Commission for Women took suo motu cognisance of the matter and issued directions to the Tamil Nadu police to register a case against the actor. The Chennai city police had booked Mansoor for abovementioned comment. The police took action based on an order from DGP Shankar Jiwal. Later, when he failed to appear at the police station, the All Women Police Station (AWPS) of Thousand Lights, Chennai, issued summons to Mansoor. After summons were issued against him, the actor gave a statement asking for more time claiming that he was suffering from a throat infection.

Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj, South Indian Film Artistes' Association, singer Chinmayi, actor-politician Khushbu, actress Malavika Mohanan, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, and many others also condemned Mansoor Ali Khan's remarks.

Mansoor Ali Khan's apology
