About Gadar 2:

In 'Gadar 2', the storyline revolves around Tara Singh's bold journey as he crosses the border, risking everything to free his son, played by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been held captive in Pakistan. Set in Lahore during the year 1971, 'Gadar 2' skilfully upholds the remarkable action sequences that the prequel was known for. It also effectively portrays Tara Singh's unyielding fury against those who promote hostility between India and Pakistan.

Anil Sharma directed the film 'Gadar 2', which hit theatres on August 11, coinciding with the release of Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'.

This film serves as a follow-up to 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', a 2001 movie that unfolded against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India. The narrative is believed to draw inspiration from Boota Singh, a former British army soldier, and his poignant love tale with Zainab, a Muslim girl he saved during the communal upheaval during the partition era. The original film featured Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in central roles, along with prominent actors such as Amrish Puri and Lillete Dubey.
