Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 19: Sunny Deol’s Action Entertainer Witnesses Slight Jump; Inches Close To Rs 500 Cr Mark In India

Sunny Deol led ‘Gadar 2’ is having a historic run at the box office and has created havoc in India. Even after having a successful two weeks run at the box office, the film is able to maintain a strong pace in the theatres. ‘Gadar 2’ witnessed a major clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’, but managed to beat the film’s numbers and is now aiming to achieve the Rs 500 Crore mark in India.

‘Gadar 2’ managed to earn Rs 5.10 Crore on Day 19, taking the total collection to be around Rs 465.75 Crore in India. The film is inching closer towards the Rs 500 Crore mark. ‘Gadar 2’ had an overall 19.79 percent occupancy on August 29.

Talking about the plot of ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol revives his role as Tara Singh, who re-enters Pakistan in an attempt to rescue his son, essayed by Utkarsh Sharma. Set in Lahore during the year 1971, the action sequence and dialogues are perfectly performed and captured by the leading cast. The film also features Ameesha Patel as Sakeena.

‘Gadar 2’ is a sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ which was released in 2001 and was set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947. The film is said to be loosely based on Boota Singh, an ex-soldier in the British army.
