Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Sunny Deol Starrer Attracts Mass Crowd; Now Biggest Independence Day Movie In History

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel led 'Gadar 2' hit theatres last week on Friday and clashed with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2.' Despite locking horns, the Anil Sharma directorial is creating big numbers at the box office with rave reviews and a general craze. The film has managed to live up to expectations with its growing collection at the box office and has proved to be unstoppable. The film opened with a bang on its fifth day and managed to attract a mass crowd on the occasion of Independence Day.

According to a report in Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 57 Crore on Day 5. Given the Independence Day holiday and the deep patriotic undercurrents of the film, the total collection of 'Gadar 2' stands around Rs 230 Crore in India. The collections on Independence Day have been the biggest single day for 'Gadar 2' and all-time third highest after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan.'

This increased collection comes as no surprise with the film consistently driving around Rs 40 Crore each day since its release. 'Gadar 2' also survived the Monday litmus test and only saw 5% drop in business, but managed to revive itself. The immense appreciation and patronage coming for the film from the viewers is sure to take the business of 'Gadar 2' to even greater heights.

The plot of 'Gadar 2' revolves around the coming back of Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and re-entering Pakistan after 17 years. This time he returns for his imprisoned son during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The film also features Utkarsh Sharma.
