Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal recently recounted a humorous moment from his first meeting with Bollywood star Salman Khan, where he almost created an awkward situation with an unintended compliment. During the shoot for the song ‘Character Dheela’ from Salman’s 2011 film Ready, Gippy, who was still becoming comfortable with Hindi, felt nervous. He complimented Salman on his physique, which left him looking puzzled. Sensing the tension, Diljit Dosanjh, who was with Gippy, quickly advised him to be cautious with his words.

Gippy Grewal recounted that during his first meeting with Salman Khan, he complimented him on his physique, saying Salman had impressive biceps. "Paji badey dole shole banaye (Paji, you have nice biceps)." The Tiger actor appeared confused and simply responded with a "Huh?" Noticing the awkwardness, Diljit Dosanjh, who was with Gippy, quickly advised him to be careful with his words. Gippy remembered Diljit’s warning about potentially angering Salman, reflecting on the situation with both humour and a sense of tension.

Meanwhile, Gippy began his career as a singer, making a mark with his debut album Chakkh Lai in 2002. His popularity soared with hit tracks like 'Angrej,' 'Meri Gaddi,' and 'Apna Punjab.' Gippy transitioned into acting with notable success, making his film debut in Mel Karade Rabba in 2010. He gained widespread recognition for his roles in films such as Jihne Mera Dil Luteya, Sardar Udham Singh, and Kaptaan.

Gippy’s versatility extends beyond singing and acting; he has also ventured into film production, further cementing his influence in the Punjabi film industry.

The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj, began shooting in June, completing its first schedule by July 1. In Sikandar, Salman plays a businessman leading a dual life—publicly a philanthropist with a golden heart, while his past reveals a more rugged side. Devoted to this project, Salman has stepped back from other commitments to focus on the film, slated for release on Eid 2025. His recent Instagram post, showing him smiling at a computer screen, generated buzz among fans eagerly awaiting the film.
