GOAT Box Office Collection Day 23: Starring Thalapathy Vijay, the Tamil film GOAT premiered on September 5 and had a robust box office opening, grossing Rs 420 crore by the end of its second week. However, audience interest has begun to decline in its third week, especially with new competitors like Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's Devara and Meiyazhagan entering the market.
The continued decline in box office performance raises concerns about its potential to reach ₹250 crore. The film stars Thalapathy Vijay alongside a talented ensemble cast, including Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Meenakshii Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu in key roles.
GOAT is only the third film, following Leo and Ponniyin Selvan 1, to surpass Rs 200 crore in Tamil Nadu, making Vijay the only actor with two films grossing over 200 crore in the state. While GOAT has slowed in other regions, its strong reception in Tamil Nadu has solidified its success. The special cameo appearances by Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan sharing the screen with Vijay have become standout highlights of the film.

The Greatest of All Time, also known as GOAT, is a Tamil action thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Vijay in dual roles, supported by a talented cast that includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Parvati Nair, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, and Yugendran. This project marks the studio's twenty-fifth production and is one of Vijay's final films before he transitions into politics.
The plot follows Gandhi, a spy agent in the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS), who, after retiring, yearns for a normal life but is haunted by a past mission. In addition to Vijay's compelling dual roles, the film features cameo appearances from cricketer MS Dhoni, as well as South Indian superstars Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan. Following its theatrical release on September 5, 2024, in both standard and IMAX formats, the film will be available for streaming on Netflix starting October 3, 2024. While GOAT received mixed reviews from critics, Vijay's performance, action sequences, and the climax were praised, though the film faced criticism for its character development and writing.
