Godzilla X Kong- The New Empire hit the theatres on March 29 and the movie has been performing great at the box office. The movie has so far raked in $210 million worldwide on a $135 million budget, making it the seventh highest-grossing film of 2024. It is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise.
As Godzilla continues its successful theatrical run, the movie buffs await its OTT release. Here is all you need to know:
Godzilla OTT Release
As per reports, fans eagerly anticipating the digital release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire can anticipate the movie becoming available for purchase and rental on digital video-on-demand (VOD) platforms like Amazon Prime Video and YouTube TV approximately 45 days after its initial theatrical debut. However, the official OTT release date has not been disclosed by the creators yet. Additionally, Warner Bros has not yet revealed the precise streaming date for the film on HBO Max.
Godzilla Box Office Collection In India
Amid high anticipation, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire debuted in India on March 29, competing with the Bollywood film Crew starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon. Surpassing expectations, the international blockbuster had the biggest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in India in 2024, earning Rs 37.60 crore.
In this sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong, Kong teams up with Godzilla to battle a tyrannical leader and a frost-breathing Titan threatening the surface. They encounter more of Kong's species in the Hollow Earth. The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen, with some reprising their roles from the previous movie.
Critics had a mixed response to the film, drawing unfavorable comparisons to its predecessor, Godzilla Minus One (2023). Despite this, it managed to garner attention at the box office, accumulating approximately $210 million in global earnings.
