Who is Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey?

The 2001 Parliament attack took the nation by storm when a real-life mission changed the course of India’s fight against terrorism. During the mission, one BSF officer made it his mission to hunt down Ghazi Baba, the mastermind behind the 2001 Parliament attack. NND Dubey, who was a Deputy Commandant at the time, launched a high-stakes chase through Kashmir for two years. After discovering the whereabouts of Baba, Dubey led a raid which turned into a fierce gunfight. During the fight, Dubey was shot multiple times. One bullet still remains in Dubey’s body. In a conversation with E24, producer Ritesh Sidhwani stated, “In an interview with E24, Producer Ritesh Sidhwani stated, “Of course, you should take certain cinematic liberties to dramatise, but the material was available.” He further added, “Some of the things in the script, which we thought the writer wrote to make it filmy, but they were facts. Everything written there is authentic.”

2001 Parliament Attack

On December 13, 2001, five Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists attacked the Indian Parliament in New Delhi. They drove into the complex in a car with fake labels, breaching security. The gunmen were armed with AK-47 rifles, grenade launchers, and pistols. All five terrorists were killed after an intense encounter with security personnel and the Vice President’s guards. However, during the fight, Constable Kamlesh Kumari of the Central Reserve Police Force was martyred in the line of duty. The attack resulted in nine fatalities, while 17 were injured. Ministers and MPs remained unharmed.
