Gurucharan Singh, who rose to fame as Roshan Singh from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has been missing for a while now. Amid the distressful situation, now the producer of the show Asit Modi has broken his silence on Gurucharan’s missing reports. Calling it ‘shocking’ and ‘painful’ news, the producer claimed that he always had a good relationship with the actor even after he quitted the show. He further revealed that Gurucharan always met him with a smile and he last saw the actor 6-7 months ago.

Asit Modi reacts after Gurucharan Singh goes missing

In an interview with Times Now, Asit Modi said, “This is a very painful and shocking news. He was very loving towards his family. He took the whole responsibility of his parents on himself. We were never really personal with each other but from what I knew of him, he was a very religious person. He had left TMKOC during Covid, but we always had good relations even after that... Gurucharan always used to meet me with a smile. His disappearance is very shocking, I don't know why this has happened. The investigation is on, though, so I am sure something good will turn up. I pray to God that he is safe and he picks up his calls."

Asit Modi added that Gurucharan also had a good bond with his wife and revealed that he last met him 6-7 months ago.

Why did Gurucharan Singh leave Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Gurucharan Singh left the show as his father underwent a surgery in 2020 and it was reported that he didn't get payment for his work. Now reacting to the same, Asit Modi said, “It was nothing like that. That was Covid time, and it was stressful for all of us. The shootings had stopped. Even we didn't know if the show would continue or not. The world was changing around us. Now it's back to normal routine. That was a difficult moment for all of us.”

When did Gurucharan Singh go missing?

Gurucharan Singh’s father claimed that his son had been missing since 22nd April from Delhi airport. He also shared that a missing complaint has been filed at Delhi’s Palam Police Station. The actor’s phone has been unreachable since then and he neither reached Mumbai nor came back home.
