Korean actress Han So-hee, known for her role in the action-thriller Kdrama Gyeongseong Creature on Netflix, is facing backlash for her recent comments on the portrayal of Korean independence fighters in the show. Fans have expressed disappointment, calling for the writer-director to address the issue.

The drama, set against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation of Korea in 1945, has garnered attention for its depiction of historical events, particularly the actions of Korean independence fighters. Some viewers raised concerns about the portrayal of these characters, perceiving them as "weak or traitorous."

In a recent discussion with news outlets on January 15, Han So Hee acknowledged the legitimacy of these concerns. As per Koreaboo, the actor stated, "I think it is fair to criticize the show." However, her comments on the difficulty of understanding the historical period without having lived through it sparked controversy.

Han So Hee emphasized the challenge of accurately speaking about that time period without firsthand experience. She argued, "I think it's impossible for anyone to speak about that time period unless you have actually lived through it." She cautioned against judging the decisions of independence fighters, as viewers are living vicariously through the characters.
