AR Rahman, the Mozart of the Hindi film industry, is a globally celebrated composer who changed the face of the Indian music industry. Rahman's compositions transcend beyond age group, religion, language and culture and beautifully blend everyone. Recently, the singer opened up about doing the music for the much-anticipated movie, based on Hindu mythology, despite being from another religion. He also slammed the people for being small-minded and highlighted the diversity behind the project.
AR Rahman is collaborating with Hans Zimmer to create the Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana's music. The movie's first glimpse is out and is already making waves among the moviegoers. The movie cast features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and others in the pivotal roles. Recently, the singer opened up about respecting values and ideas irrespective of anyone's religion. In a conversation on BBC's Asian YouTube channel, he said, "I studied in a Brahmi school and every year we had Ramayana and Mahabharat, so I know the story. The story is about how virtuous a person is, higher ideas and all that stuff. People may argue, but I value all those good things, any good things that you can learn from."

He further slammed narrow-minded people and urged them to think beyond religion. AR Rahman said, "I think we need to elevate from small-mindedness and selfishness. When we elevate, we become radiant and that's very important."

The singer also stated how this particular project itself is a wide example of diversity and said, "Hans Zimmer is Jewish, I am Muslim and the Ramayana is Hindi. It's coming from India to the whole world with love."
