Shahid Re-Release: Renowned filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s Shahid, a National Award-winning biographical drama, is returning to the silver screens after receiving rave responses during its initial release. The film, starring Rajkummar Rao, explores the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi. The gripping storyline and Rajkummar Rao’s power-packed performance earned the film widespread critical acclaim and numerous honours. Amid the ongoing re-release trend, reports suggest that the makers are planning a special screening, followed by a wider re-release to mark the film's 10th anniversary.

Shahid Movie Re-Release and Special Screening

The film, featuring Rajkummar Rao in the lead, originally released on October 18, 2013, and garnered praise from both critics and audiences. Now, the makers are set to bring the film back with a special screening reportedly on February 26, 2025 and a re-release in May to mark its 10th anniversary in the industry. The event is being organized by the Versova Homage Society.

Producer Sunil Bohra shared the details about the film's re-release and special screening with ETimes. He shared, "We are indeed holding a special screening of the film organized by the Versova Homage Society to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the film."

The producer also revealed that he and Hansal Mehta are planning a broader re-release of the film, tentatively scheduled for May. He added, “Hansal Mehta and I are planning a re-release of the film sometime in May. I am grateful to Hansal Mehta for allowing me to produce this film.”
