Harry Potter TV Series: Release Date

The Harry Potter TV series is slated to premiere on Max in 2026. Although originally aiming for a 2025 release, there is a possibility that the show might debut in the first quarter rather than being postponed to a later time in the year.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced that the highly anticipated TV series is scheduled for release in 2026. We’ve not been shy about our excitement around Harry Potter. Both sides are thrilled to be reigniting this franchise. Our conversations were great, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world on Max," he said.

Harry Potter TV Series: Cast and expectations

While the cast for the upcoming adaptation has not been revealed, reports indicate that none of the original Harry Potter actors are likely to return for the TV series. When questioned about his involvement in the new series, Radcliffe informed ComicBook.com in July 2024, "As far as I know, they are aiming to begin anew, and I'm certain whoever is at the helm will want to establish their own identity, likely opting not to include an appearance from an older Harry." Deadline revealed in February 2023 that Warner Bros. had solicited proposals from a range of creators, including Martha Hillier, Kathleen Jordan, Tom Moran, and Michael Lesslie.
