Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series ‘Heeramandi’ is all set for its OTT release on May 1, 2024. Ahead of its release, the series had its grand premiere in Mumbai on April 24 which was attended by who’s who of the film fraternity. Genelia Deshmukh, who also attended the big event, has given her piece of verdict about ‘Heeramandi’.

Genelia took to her Instagram Story and wrote, “Just saw 2 episodes of Heeramandi, and it has me craving for more. What a world, what a journey you take us through, Sanjay Sir. Mesmerized as always. Loved, loved, loved the entire cast and what a super effort by the crew too. Netflix, this is truly special (sic).” She also posted a picture of herself with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Esha Deol was among the attendees at the premiere of 'Heeramandi', where she was particularly impressed by Fardeen Khan's performance in the show. She took to Instagram to express her admiration, posting, "Spectacular show. Welcome back, Fardeen Khan, proud of you," accompanied by a heart emoji to convey her emotions. Additionally, Esha shared a video on her Instagram from the premiere capturing her interaction with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and captioned it with words of awe and respect, writing, "In awe of you, Sanjay Leela Bhansali."

‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language period drama TV series by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It explores the lives of courtesans in the Heera Mandi red-light district of Lahore during the fight for Indian independence from British rule. The show features stars like Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal. Both Bhansali and Mitakshara Kumar are directing the series.
