Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar actress Sharmin Segal has been facing backlash since the release of the web series for her performance and as well as for her alleged plastic surgery. Netizens criticised her looks and expression in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web show. Recently, the actress shared her desire to look like Bella Hadid. She also shared her opinion on beauty standards and self-acceptance of one’s own body. Sharmin further stated that she loves her body but sometimes she is not happy with the way she looks. 

In an interview with News18, Sharmin said, “I love my body but there are days when I’m not happy with the way I look. I feel bloated sometimes. If I eat French fries for dinner, I feel bloated the very next day. Coming to terms with how you look is a slow process because your body keeps changing.”

“Coming to terms with those changes that are out of our control and still be comfortable with yourself and work towards being the best version of yourself that makes you happy is tough. Sometimes you may work out every day but that might not show on your body. But you need to be okay with putting in that effort knowing that it may not show. And yes, sometimes I wish I looked like Bella Hadid,” she added.

Sharmin Segal is known for work in Malaal and Atithi Bhooto Bhava. Before stepping into the acting career in Bollywood, she was an Assistant Director (AD) in movies like Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and PeeCee. 

Sharmin was last seen in Heeramandi, which released on 1st May. It starred Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Farida Jalal, Pratibha Ranta and Taha Shah Badussha in pivotal roles. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.
