Kpop girl group aespa under SM Entertainment has made a solid comeback with its highly anticipated first studio album 'Armageddon'. Known for their powerhouse vocals and dynamic performances, aespa has solidified their status as an international Kpop legend. However, their recent showcase was overshadowed by a controversy involving HYBE’s chairman, Bang Si Hyuk, and ADOR’s CEO, Min Hee Jin.

During a press event, reporters questioned the group about a leaked conversation in which Bang Si Hyuk allegedly asked Min Hee Jin if she could "crush" aespa, implying a competitive edge against the rising girl group under SM Entertainment. The reactions of aespa’s members Winter and Karina quickly went viral, capturing the attention of fans and media alike.

Winter and Karina’s Response to Controversy:

When asked about the controversial remarks, Winter responded with grace and a hint of playfulness. She acknowledged the buzz with a smile and a hand covering her face, adding a positive spin to the situation. "Instead of thinking about it, I just took it as a sign that our album will do well," she said, hinting that the drama might actually fuel the success of their upcoming release.

Karina, on the other hand, took a more straightforward approach. She addressed the reporters with confidence, emphasizing the hard work and dedication the group has put into their first full-length album. "We know all about the matter. Since it’s our first full-length album, we gave our all to practicing. We gained strength from the support and love [we received] and worked hard to prepare for it. I think it’ll be a satisfactory start with this first full-length album, so I am thankful for the public, as well as for our SM family and the members who have worked hard," Karina stated.

Aespa and NewJeans' Dynamics:

Despite the competitive remarks from HYBE’s chairman, Karina spoke positively about their relationship with NewJeans, managed by ADOR (HYBE's sublabel). When asked how they interact with NewJeans during shows or award events, Karina emphasized their amicable relationship. "There is nothing to worry about, we get along well with our colleagues," she said, dispelling any rumours of animosity between the groups.
