Highest grossing Indian movies of all time: Indian cinema has had a global presence since the early 20th century and is now screened in over 90 countries, with rising ticket prices, theatre counts and wider releases boosting box office growth. While Hindi cinema long dominated, regional industries like Telugu and Tamil have gained significant share over time, with Telugu cinema emerging as a major leader in recent years. Dangal
Dangal is a 2016 Hindi-language biographical sports drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Siddharth Roy Kapur under Aamir Khan Productions and The Walt Disney Company India. The film stars Aamir Khan as wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become world-class wrestlers. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play the adult sisters, while Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar portray their younger versions. The cast also includes Sakshi Tanwar as their mother and Aparshakti Khurana and Ritvik Sahore as their cousin at different ages. Dandal grossed Rs 1,968−2,024 crore worldwide.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was one of 2017’s most anticipated releases, driven by the cliffhanger of its predecessor. Released on over 9,000 screens worldwide, it received widespread acclaim for its direction, visuals, performances and action. The film became a historic blockbuster, earning over Rs 1,810 crore globally and briefly emerging as India’s highest-grossing film, while also becoming the first to cross Rs 1,000 crore and setting multiple box office records across languages.
Pushpa 2: The Rule
Pushpa 2 The Rule was released worldwide on December 5, 2024, across multiple formats including IMAX, 4DX, D-Box and PVR ICE. The film received largely positive reviews, with praise for its performances, cinematography and action sequences, though some criticism was directed at its screenplay and runtime. It went on to become a massive commercial success, earning between Rs 1,600–1,800 crore globally, making it one of the highest-grossing films in India and among the top Indian films worldwide.
Dhurandhar The revenge
The 2026 Indian Hindi spy action thriller movie, Dhurandhar The Revenge, hit the theatres on March 19, 2026. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sunjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in lead roles. It has been directed by renowned filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for hits like Uri: The Surgical Strike. The Revenge is a sequel to 2025 hit movie Dhurandhar which raked in over Rs 1,428 crore at the worldwide box office. As of Dhurandhar The Revenge, it is all set to cross Rs 1500 crore benchmark.

Dhurandhar, released on December 5, 2025, received mixed reviews, praised for performances and scale but criticised for its runtime and pacing, while also sparking controversy over its portrayal of historical events. Despite this, it became a massive box office success, crossing Rs 1,000 crore worldwide and setting multiple records.
The film faced bans in some Gulf countries and saw heavy piracy in Pakistan and was followed by its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March 2026.
