Hina Khan in June 2024, shared with her fans that she had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Since revealing this, the actress has been documenting her journey on social media, keeping her followers updated on her treatment and experiences. During a recent conversation with India Today, actor Mahima Chaudhry opened up about her involvement in Hina’s decision-making process regarding her treatment location. According to Mahima, she was the first person Hina reached out to after her diagnosis. Hina had initially planned to go to the US for treatment, but Mahima advised her to stay in India.

Recalling their conversation, Mahima said, “I met Hina very casually at a party, and we stayed in touch. After she got diagnosed, the first person she called was me. She told me that she had booked herself for treatment in America. I told her, ‘That’s exactly how I felt when I was diagnosed. But, you’ll be alone there. It’s a very tough treatment process.’”

Mahima shared that she recommended Hina get treated in Mumbai, emphasizing that the medicine used in both countries is the same. “The doctor in the US might even be an Indian, but you may not feel the same trust and comfort you’d get here. So why not do it in your home country, where you have support?” she added.

Hina eventually took Mahima’s advice and decided to undergo treatment in India. The Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress expressed her gratitude by posting a heartfelt note on Instagram. She mentioned that Mahima had visited her during her first chemotherapy session and had supported her every step of the way. “She has been guiding, motivating, and illuminating my path during this toughest phase of my life. She made sure that my journey was easier than hers,” Hina wrote.

In another post, Hina highlighted Mahima’s influence on her life, stating, “Her hardships became my life lessons, her love and kindness became my benchmark, and her courage became my greatest goal.” Hina Khan has been a prominent face on Indian television, starring in popular shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2018-2019) and Naagin 5 (2020). Her last appearance was in the Punjabi film Shinda Shinda No Papa, alongside Gippy Grewal. Despite her ongoing treatment, Hina has been actively sharing her journey with fans, encouraging others to stay positive and strong.
