Indian filmmakers have regularly drawn inspiration from Korean movies in a variety of ways. Korean cinema has mastered a variety of genres, from fierce thrillers to deeply moving dramas and terrifying horror movies. For instance, the popularity of Korean horror movies like "The Wailing" spurred the production of horror movies like this in India.
A number of popular Korean movies have been remade in India with modifications produced specifically for the Indian market. While incorporating cultural modifications to fit the Indian environment, these adaptations frequently keep the main characters, plot, and themes. Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan (Inspired by Boys Over Flowers)
An Indian television program called ‘Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan’ (How Is This Friendship) aired on MTV India from July 21, 2014 to December 31, 2015. The third and fourth seasons of the hit show debuted on Voot from May 15, 2018, and December 2, 2022, respectively. On September 2, 2023, Jio Cinema debuted the fifth season. There are four seasons to the show, with the first focusing on Manik's transition from a friend to a lover and how Nandini intervenes to alter his course. The second season serves as much of a conclusion to the first by showing the development and change in each character's life.
Duranga (Inspired by Flower Of Evil)
'Duranga' is an Indian Hindi-language web-series and an adaptation of the Korean drama 'Flower of Evil'. The web series has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar and Aijaz Khan starring Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami. The show is available to watch on Zee5.
'Duranga' follows the story of Sammit and Ira. Ira begins investigating multiple murders by the suspected accomplice of a serial killer, and this leads her to discover some revelations about her husband's twisted past.
Gyaarah Gyaarah (Inspired by Signal)
‘Gyaarah Gyaarah’ has been directed by Umesh Bisht, who is well-known for his noteworthy work on ‘Pagglait’, is the series' director. The show, which was co-written by Puja Banerji and Sunjoy Shekhar, promises an intriguing plot that keeps viewers fascinated and provides them an amazing experience. In this much awaited adaptation, Kritika Kamra assists her colleagues in solving cold cases. In ‘Gyaarah Gyaarah’, Dhairya Karwa takes on the character of Lee Je-Hoon, while Raghav Juyal plays that of Cho Jin-woong.
Dhamaka (Inspired By The Terror Live)
'Dhamaka', which is based on the 2013 Korean film ‘The Terror Live’, earned generally positive reviews from both audiences and fans. The Hindi version stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role.

Ek Villain (Inspired by I Saw The Devil)
The movie ‘Ek Villain’ was released in all countries on June 27, 2014, and it earned favorable reviews from fans and critics alike. It was praised for its concept, directing, screenplay, and action scenes, and Deshmukh in particular was praised for playing his first-ever antagonist. Despite having a 39 crore rupee budget, the movie grossed 170 crore rupees globally and over 100 crore rupees locally.
