Unfortunately, fans of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in Gulf countries who were eagerly anticipating the release of their film 'Fighter' may face disappointment. According to Girish Johar, a film business expert and producer, as of now, the movie has been denied release in all Gulf nations except the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

While the specific reason for the ban has not been revealed, Girish Johar shared on Twitter, "In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with PG15 classification!" If media reports are to be believed, the film didn't get approval from the GCC Censors.

While the exact cause for the denial remains uncertain, it is possible that the censors identified content deemed either highly disturbing or objectionable. Notably, Tiger 3 faced recent bans in Kuwait and Qatar as well. According to ANI, a source within the Fighter team has also verified the information regarding the film's release in Gulf countries, excluding the UAE. However, the official statement from the makers is still pending. Despite facing obstacles with the censor board in Gulf nations, the aerial action thriller 'Fighter' is scheduled to hit Indian theaters on January 25th.

About Fighter

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film features an ensemble cast including Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. Produced by Viacom18 Studios in association with Marflix Pictures, the movie is positioned as a homage to the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism exemplified by the Indian armed forces.

Speaking about the film, Siddharth earlier said, "Mamta (Siddharth's wife) and I started our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER. A film that is ambitious in more ways than one. It's more than just a film for us. And we have given it all to this one. 2024 starts with the same feeling again of nervousness and anxiety. Here's hoping that you guys give the same love to FIGHTER that you showered on PATHAAN. Happy new year guys! See at the movies!! On 25th January."
