Ramayana, the most anticipated film of the year 2026, has officially released its teaser on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2nd. The teaser offered a breathtaking first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, showcasing the epic's emotional spectrum, from the opulence of palace life to the stark sacrifice of exile. While a brief glimpse of Ravana also raised excitement among the fans, his full look was not revealed in the teaser. At the high-profile launch, Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari, and producer Namit Malhotra took the stage to discuss their vision for this massive cultural milestone.

Ranbir Kapoor On Playing Lord Rama's Role

Speaking at the teaser launch event, Ranbir Kapoor expressed a humble approach to the role. He said, “I don’t think I am here to represent Lord Ram. I have come to learn from him. There is a simplicity and purity in him that is rare. Trying to understand and bring that into myself has been a beautiful experience.” His statement reflected the emotional and spiritual depth he is bringing to the character.

Nitesh Tiwari On The Story

Director Nitesh Tiwari highlighted the human side of the epic. He said, “Ram’s journey is deeply human. We have tried to stay true to that. Ramayana is not just about good and evil, but about the duty of doing the right thing.” His vision aimed to present the story in a relatable and meaningful way.

Namit Malhotra On Lord Ram’s Ideals

The film producer Namit Malhotra also spoke about the values of Lord Ram. He shared, “Lord Ram chooses truth over comfort and sacrifice over self. That is why his story has lasted for thousands of years. His strength lies in what he gave up, not just what he achieved.” His words underlined the timeless relevance of the story.

Cast And Release Details

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film stars Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Laksham. Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first reportedly arriving on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027.
