New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Veteran Filmmaker and Hrithik Roshan's maternal uncle J Om Prakash passed away at the age of 93 in Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday. Several Bollywood actors and filmmakers attended the funeral held in Vile Parle, Mumbai.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was first from the B-Town to remember J Om Prakash as an eminent Director. "J OM PRAKASH ji Producer Director of eminence, passed away this morning .. a kind gentle affable being .. my neighbor, Hrithik's grandfather .. sad !! Prayers for his soul .. " he wrote on Twitter.
Amitabh Bachchan, with son Abhishek Bachchan, veteran actor Dharmendra, Jeetendra and Kunal Kapoor attend Om Prakash's funeral. Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife Sussanne Khan and his children were also present.
The filmmaker had a huge impact on superstar Hrithik Roshan's life. Ahead of his 'Super 30' release, Hrithik thanked his 'nana' for helping him become the person he is today.
The Director has worked in several films like 'Aap Ki Kasam', 'Aakhir Kyon', 'Arpan', 'Apna Bana Lo', 'Apnapan', and 'Asha'. J Om Prakash directed with Rajesh Khanna in his debut film and worked with Jeetendra in 'Aadmi Khilona Hai'. He has also worked as a producer in hit films like 'Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke', 'Ayee Milan Ki Bela', 'Aaye Din Bahar Ke' and 'Aakhon Mein'.
He also served as the President of the Film Federation of India from 1995-96.
