IT Department conducts raids at Sukumar's house and offices

It is pertinent to note that the Pushpa 2 director was not at his residence when the raids began, as he was at the Hyderabad airport. However, he was promptly escorted back to his home by IT officials, after which the raids were carried out.

While the Income Tax Department has maintained silence on the matter, refusing to disclose any details about the objective or findings of the raid, the incident has generated significant interest and attention within the film industry and beyond. As of now, the reasons behind the raid remain unclear, leaving fans and followers of Sukumar's work eagerly awaiting further updates.

The recent Income Tax raids on filmmaker Sukumar's residence and office have come at a rather interesting time, coinciding with the immense success of his latest blockbuster, Pushpa 2: The Rule. Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the film has been raking in the box office numbers, with earnings exceeding a staggering Rs 1500 crore.

This raid was not an isolated incident, as producer Dil Raju's properties were also subjected to IT raids just a day earlier, on January 21. According to reports, the IT officials are suspecting tax evasion and are diligently verifying documents and financial records to uncover any potential discrepancies. As part of a broader investigation into alleged financial irregularities and unaccounted income, officials are meticulously scrutinising transactions and financial records to ascertain whether there has been any tax evasion.
