The highly anticipated IPL mega auction has commenced, with a total of 84 players set to go under the hammer at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, as part of a two-day extravaganza. In previous editions of the IPL auction, fans have grown accustomed to spotting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan or at the very least, one of his children, Aryan or Suhana Khan, proudly representing the Kolkata Knight Riders at the auction table.
However, this year's event in Jeddah has been notable for the absence of the Khan trio. Shah Rukh Khan's absence, in particular, has sparked speculation among fans and pundits alike, with many attributing his non-attendance to potential personal or professional commitments, such as shooting for an upcoming film.
Juhi Chawla announced her arrival in Jeddah for the IPL auction, but surprisingly, she wasn't present at the table. Instead, her husband Jay Mehta and daughter Jahnavi Mehta represented KKR, with Jahnavi impressing fans with her knowledge and strategic involvement.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made history by clinching their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2024, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in the final. This triumph marked KKR's third IPL championship, adding to their previous wins in 2012 and 2014. The final, held at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, was a testament to KKR's exceptional teamwork, with standout performances from Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh, who showcased their composed batting skills, steering the chase after KKR's bowlers restricted SRH to a modest total.
Shah Rukh Khan, KKR's co-owner, celebrated the victory with his signature charm, sharing heartfelt moments with fans on social media and dedicating the win to the team's unwavering spirit. This win has further solidified KKR's legacy in IPL history, cementing their position as one of the most successful teams in the league.
