Varun Dhawan is all set to do some action in his upcoming movie Baby John. Ahead of the release, there are several speculations about the movie whether it is a remake or an adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamil 2016 movie Theri. Now, reacting to the same, Varun Dhawan clarified that it is not a scene-by-scene remake of the Tamil movie but can be rather called an ‘adaptation’. He also made some exciting revelations about the film.

In an interview with India Today, Varun said “When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done.”

“Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation,” he added.

In Baby John, Varun plays the role of a police officer and single father who is not afraid to face challenges. In one of the scenes, the actor said “Mere jaise bohat aaye hoge, main pehali baar aaya hu (Many like me might have come before, but I have come here for the first time).” The movie also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff and Sheeba Chaddha in pivotal roles. Salman Khan made a special appearance in the movie. The will be released in theatres on December 25, 2024.

While talking about Salman Khan’s role in the movie, Varun said at a press conference “It is wonderful. I think whenever you get a chance to work with such a big superstar, a megastar, such a magnanimous human being, it's amazing. It's a completely original character crafted for him by Atlee sir. There's nothing like this character that's been seen before. I won't divulge much about his role, but one thing I can say is that the impact of his role will be long-lasting.”
