As Rajinikanth's fans eagerly await updates on his upcoming films, new information has emerged about his collaboration with director Nelson for Jailer 2. According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Jailer 2 is tentatively titled Hukum, and Nelson is set to commence pre-production work in June 2024.
The first draft of Jailer 2 is reportedly finalized, and the team is highly satisfied with Nelson's vision. A source revealed to Pinkvilla, "Nelson is keen on exploring more of Rajinikanth as Tiger aka. Muthuvel Pandian has devised a perfect sequel to advance the story. His concept has received approval from Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures. Nelson is now gearing up to commence pre-production in June 2024."
The makers aim to commence filming by the end of this year, following Rajinikanth's completion of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalaivar 171. The report added, "Jailer 2 will commence production by the end of this year or early 2025, depending on Lokesh Kanagaraj's schedule for his next project with Rajinikanth… The film has been tentatively titled 'Hukum,' a phrase that became synonymous with Rajinikanth after the success of 'Jailer.' The team is considering two titles – 'Jailer 2' and 'Hukum' – with a preference towards 'Hukum.'"

Regarding Thalaivar 171, reports suggest that Rajinikanth has demanded a staggering amount, possibly making him the highest-paid actor in Asia. The actor is said to have quoted a fee of Rs 260-280 crore for the film, which features an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. However, these reports are yet to be officially confirmed.
