It was earlier reported that Thalapathy Vijay will have a cameo role in 'Jawan' because he shares a great bond with the film's director Atlee. In a recent interview, the filmmaker dismissed the rumours of Vijay's cameo but revealed a surprise addition to the film.

Atlee revealed that he will make a cameo appearance in 'Jawan' not Thalapathy Vijay. In an interview with DT Next, Atlee said, "Vijay sir is not playing a cameo in the film. If that were the case, I would have announced it myself. Perhaps, I am planning a movie that will feature both of these actors in lead roles. In fact, I played a cameo in 'Jawan'."
