‘Jawan’ is one of the highest anticipated films of Shah Rukh Khan in 2023, and marks his second venture of the year. The film is minting impressive numbers at the box office and hit theatres on September 7. ‘Jawan’ is directed by Atlee and also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The film captures a special extended cameo appearance of Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. The film is pinning a new record everyday at the box office and has recently entered the Rs 300 Crore club in India.
According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Jawan’ minted Rs 30 Crore on Day 5, taking the total collection of the film domestically around Rs 316.16 Crore. It covered 17.38 percent occupancy in Hindi-speaking regions on Monday, and passed the crucial Monday litmus test. ‘Jawan’ covered 13.72 percent occupancy in Tamil, and 16.75 percent occupancy in Telugu.

On Sunday, the film raked Rs 81 Crore, making it the highest single-day grosser in the history of Bollywood. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan’s film, ‘Pathaan’ held this record and minted Rs 70.50 Crore on the second day of its release. ‘Jawan’ has also achieved the mark of being the fastest Bollywood film to reach the Rs 500 Crore mark at the global box office. The film raked approximately Rs 530 Crore worldwide.

The casting director of the film, Mukesh Chhabra, revealed in an interview that it took him almost a year to complete the casting of the film. According to a report in The Indian Express, he said, “More than a year was spent on it. We had to find new people, and get everyone on board on given dates. We had to block them for more than 100 days so the coordination also takes a lot of time. All big films take time, again I mention the example of Dangal and Dunki, or PK and Sanju. Your work can’t be done within three months.”
