Jawan Movie Review: After the gigantic success of ‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan marks his second big screen presence with ‘Jawan’, and it only gets bigger and better. ‘Jawan’ is a revenge saga driven by professional and personal motives which is linked to the injustice present in our corrupt Indian system. However, this Atlee’s creation is not just another action-thriller which is mass appealing, but strikes a chord with each Indian citizen.
The nearly three-hour long venture dosen't bore the audience as the story has multiple twists and revelations without any exaggeration and is positively stitched together. ‘Jawan’ flows from one scene to the other swiftly, without any lag which also maintains the viewers interest. Each scene, with the music score and cinematography, deserves a huge applause and makes you scream inside the theatres.

Plot
‘Jawan’ revolves around an emotional journey of a wounded Indian soldier, with his son set to rectify the wrongs and woes in the society. He is supported with a set of strong-headed women, taking the centre stage which has multiple villains in the row, however one amongst them is here on a personal mission.
Review
Shah Rukh Khan manages to impress the audience with his dual performance seen for the second time on screen. Marking the debut of Atlee’s direction in Bollywood, the artist aces his craft and is set to give a Southern taste of cinema in this venture. Shah Rukh Khan’s perfect action style woven with Atlee’s Southern aesthetics is a must-watch showcasing the true essence of SRK’s celebration in the cinematic world.
The film is designed to raise one's adrenaline rush and praise the actors performances. It is difficult to sum up the plot of the film, as it has several sub-plots which eventually lead to the finale. The curiosity bar of the film is greatly scripted by the makers making ‘Jawan’ stand out from the basic commercial films seen in Bollywood.

Performances
'Jawan' is carried by a strong set of cast supporting the lead actors. Making her Bollywood debut, superstar Nayanthara steals the show with her presence everytime on the screen. A straightforward independent lady, changes her graph throughout the film, but manages to showcase her emotional side with a powerful intensity. Her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan shines throughout the film and everytime makes one heart melt a little each more.
Speaking about villains, there is no match for Vijay Sethupathi. Sported a beard look, and an intense motive, his onscreen presence is remarkable in every scene. His character’s complexities are well written, to which he does the rightful justice. With tiny comic timings within the intense situation, Vijay Sethupathi makes you crave more for his unpredictable next move.
The back-story is filled with a top-notch female cast including Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Leher Khan, and Girja Oak. Everytime the girls scream ‘Ready Chief’, an adrenaline rush runs through making the audience aware of something big in the bag.
The leading lady of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone takes the centre stage in the second part of the film and marks her pivotal presence. Providing justice to the reason of Shah Rukh Khan’s character’s actions, she is the main climax twist and successfully manages to mesmerise the masses.
Talking about the ‘King of Bollywood’, he does not require any introduction as he redefines ‘perfection’ in this film. The heart and soul of ‘Jawan’, Shah Rukh Khan manages to define the frustration of a common man and delivers justice in the cinematic world.
Music Score
The scale of ‘Jawan’ is masked at another level and is never seen in India. The grandeur writing of the film with the background score by Anirudh Ravichander steal the show. From the title track running throughout the film, the solid sound score elevates the mass moments with intense slow-motion scenes praising the names of Anirudh and Atlee in bold letters.
Final Verdict
‘Jawan’ sums up a solid punch of drama, action, revenge, and emotions, perfectly captured and screenplayed by Atlee. It delivers a fortunate opportunity to witness Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role and provide justice to both. The high-octane action blocks with tons of revelations and reasons for the actions all along, which comes off as a strong story on screen. It is a historic blockbuster with a rightful vigilant plan by the makers to which the audience will definitely scream ‘Ready Chief.’
