Kalakalappu OTT Release: A Tamil-language comedy film Kalakalappu, directed by Sundar C and produced by his wife Kushboo. Vimal, Shiva, Anjali, Oviya, and Santhanam played the lead roles in the film, which became a commercial hit upon its release in 2012. The film was originally titled Masala Cafe but later got renamed to Kalakalappu. The movie is now available for streaming online on an OTT platform.

Kalakalappu, which debuted in theatres in 2012, is now available online. The romantic comedy streams on the Sun NXT OTT platform for anyone who couldn’t catch it on the silver screen. The platform shared this news on its X handle along with a clip featuring an iconic dialogue from the film, followed by a meme. The post read, "Adha eduthu ulla vei, Kumarey!! Watch Kalakalappu (2012) now on Sun NXT."

About Kalakalappu Movie Cast and Plot

Sundar C, the legendary filmmaker known for movies like Anbe Sivam and the Aranmanai franchise, wrote and directed Kalakalappu. He produced the film along with his wife Khushboo. The film stars Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali, and Oviya in lead roles, while Ilavarasu, John Vijay, Vichu Vishwanath, and others played key roles. The movie received critical acclaim and, following its commercial success, was later remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani, starring Allari Naresh and Isha Chawla in the lead roles. However, the remake failed to leave an impact on the audience. In 2018, Sundar C released the sequel, Kalakalappu 2, starring Jiiva, Jai, Catherine Tresa, Shiva, and others. The sequel, however, didn’t meet the expectations set by the original movie at the box office.

The film follows the story of Seenu, a struggling cafe owner trying to keep the family business afloat as it runs in losses. His younger brother, a thief who was in prison, joins him in the business after his release. Along the way, a new health inspector named Madhavi decides to permanently shut down the cafe. During their interactions over the cafe matter, Seenu and Madhavi become good friends and eventually fall for each other. Kalakalappu unfolds with budding romance, drama, and café chaos.
