Nag Ashwin recently reacted to the criticism faced by Prabhas fans for not showing him enough in the first half of Kalki 2898 AD. Several netizens pointed out on social media that the superstar had a screen timing of 20 minutes only in the first half but the characters of Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone were shown precisely. Reacting to the same, the filmmaker said that he never had that sort of discussion with Prabhas. He asserted that the actor never had any issues with these things and his focus is only the story.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, “I don’t think we had those sort of discussions. For a star of his stature, Prabhas has very little issues about things like this. He is fully for the story. Once he listened and okay-ed the story way back in the day, he has been fully onboard and very supportive.”

He also added, “Like, I think in retrospect, I feel that it was a big deal for a mainstream actor to get hit by another actor; Living in a world where all these heroes are untouchable. So it was a big deal but he was totally onboard. He wanted to get hit by Amitabh Bachchan. It was awesome. He was like, ‘Sir, hold me tighter.'”

Kalki 2898 AD had a box office collection of over Rs 700 crore globally within the first week of its release. Nag Ashwin’s directorial featured Prabhas as Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Deepika Padukone as Sumathi, Disha Patani as Roxie, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas and Keerthy Suresh as Bujji. Kalki 2898 AD also starred Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli and Ram Gopal Varma in cameo roles. The magnum opus was released in theatres on 27th June and received praise for its performances, visual effects and storyline.
