Prabhas, the renowned actor known for his roles in epic films like 'Baahubali', expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in Nag Ashwin's upcoming movie, 'Kalki 2898 AD'. The multilingual magnum opus, initially known as 'Project K' in 2020, features Bachchan and Haasan in pivotal roles.
Speaking at a promotional event for the film as per PTI, Prabhas said, "I’m thankful to Amitabh sir and Kamal sir as they agreed to be part of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. They both have inspired whole India. I’m very lucky to act with these two legends."
The actor also praised Bachchan's widespread appeal, saying, "I think Amitabh sir, who hails from North India, has earned a huge fan base in the South and we all should be proud of him. Kamal sir is also a big star. They both have fans all over India.”
Prabhas, reminiscing about his childhood, revealed his admiration for Kamal Haasan, stating, "In my younger days, I fashioned myself on Kamal sir and also tried to get my clothes stitched, like the ones he wore in the 1983 film ‘Sagara Sangamam’.”
'Kalki 2898 AD' promises to offer audiences a never-before-seen cinematic experience. The movie, produced by Aswini Dutt, founder of Vyjayanthi Movies, also stars Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Prabhas expressed his gratitude to both actresses for their contributions to the film.
“Deepika is the most gorgeous and beautiful superstar, she is doing international films, ads and we are lucky to have her in the film,” Prabhas praised.
The actor also commended the passion and courage of producer Aswini Dutt for venturing into such an ambitious project. “He is the only producer who has been in the industry for the last 50 years and imagine his second movie was with NTR. His two daughters also have the same passion, and we all should be inspired by them,” Prabhas remarked.
At the event, the makers introduced ‘Bujji’, a life-size futuristic car driven by Prabhas in “Kalki 2898 AD”. The actor arrived at the event, attended by over 15,000 fans, in this customised car.
'Kalki 2898 AD' is set to hit theatres on June 27, promising a visual extravaganza for movie enthusiasts.
