South superstar Kamal Haasan is busy promoting his upcoming movie Thug Life across the states in India. At an event in Visakhapatnam, the actor talked about how he made some movies in the past. For the unversed, his previous film Indian 2 also had a massive box office failure. However, without naming any film, the actor stated that he is making amends for a bad film before he presented Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life. Kamal Haasan also shared his gratitude to his fans and stated how the audience tends to forget previous ‘bad’ films and remember only the good ones.

Kamal Haasan said, “I’ve made many mistakes. You've forgiven all my bad films and have remembered only the good films. Thank you. I have a duty to give you good films. My record, in actual straight Telugu films, is good. I've done about 15-16 straight Telugu films and I have 13 hits. I gave it. And whenever I got flops, I gave it.”

He added, “Now, I am making amends for a bad film, so I present this film. Let's assume I am paying back my debt. For giving you a bad film, I'm giving you a good film. That's what an honest artiste would do.”

Talking about Thug Life, the Tamil movie is slated to release in theatres on June 5 this year. The movie also features Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan TR, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Ashok Selvan in key roles. It has been written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Thug Life marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 37 years. The film has been produced by Kamal Haasan, R. Mahendran, Mani Ratnam, Siva Ananth and Udhayanidhi Stalin.
