Kangana Ranaut has shared an exciting update about her highly anticipated film Emergency. After facing multiple delays and controversies, the film has finally received its certification and the release date will be revealed soon. Originally set to hit theatres on September 6, Emergency had its release postponed due to a series of controversies and legal hurdles. Taking to her Instagram story, Kangana expressed her gratitude to fans for their support and patience, announcing, “We have received the certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon.”

Kangana, who both directs and stars in the film, faced a significant challenge when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) delayed the film’s clearance. This led her to publicly criticize the CBFC’s actions, describing the delay as "illegal." In an earlier interview, Kangana expressed her frustration over the postponement, saying, “It’s getting too late. I hope the film comes on time. Otherwise, I am determined to fight for it. I am determined to even go to court to protect my film. You can’t change history and scare us by threats.”

The film Emergency delves into one of India's most politically charged periods, portraying the events surrounding the Emergency declared by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the 1980s. Kangana plays the role of Indira Gandhi, while the cast also includes prominent actors like Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and Shreyas Talpade. Anupam Kher portrays political leader Jayaprakash Narayan, and Shreyas Talpade takes on the role of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The late Satish Kaushik, in one of his final performances, will be seen as Jagjivan Ram, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India. With a powerful cast and Kangana's direction, Emergency promises to be an intense political drama that revisits a critical chapter in India’s history.
