Kangana Ranaut, the actor-turned-politician, has shared her views on the Indian work ethic, advocating for a more dedicated and 'obsessive' approach to work. Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Infosys chief Narayana Murthy, Ranaut believes that an intense work culture is essential for India's progress.

In a recent Instagram Story, Kangana echoed PM Modi's sentiments about the importance of relentless effort in nation-building. She urged young workers to move away from the typical 'weekend-waiting' mindset, which she described as a product of western influence. According to her, India, still in its developmental phase, cannot afford the luxury of this mentality.

Kangana's message comes as a call to action for the youth to adopt a more industrious attitude. She emphasized the need to normalize an obsessive work culture, highlighting the importance of consistent and dedicated effort over the allure of leisure and relaxation associated with weekends.

"Stop waiting for weekends and cribbing about Mondays," she wrote. "That's all western brainwashing. We are not a developed nation yet."

Kangana's stance aligns with a similar view expressed by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy. In a conversation on 3one4 Capital's podcast 'The Record,' Murthy emphasized the need for increased work productivity among Indian youth. He pointed out that India's work productivity is among the lowest globally and suggested that putting in extra hours is crucial for competing with leading economies like China and Japan.

"My request is that our youngsters must say, 'This is my country. I'd like to work 70 hours a week,'" Murthy stated.

Kangana Ranaut's political career began with a significant victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections, where she won from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh by a margin of over 74,000 votes. However, her journey has not been without controversy. Shortly after her electoral win, she was involved in an altercation at the Chandigarh airport, where she was reportedly hit and abused by a woman CISF constable, allegedly due to her stance on the farmers' protests. The constable, Kulwinder Kaur, was subsequently suspended and an FIR was lodged against her.
