Kanguva Box Office Collection Day 12: Suriya’s much-anticipated period fantasy film, Kanguva, continues to struggle at the box office as it inches towards the end of its theatrical run. Despite the initial buzz surrounding the movie, the collections have seen a sharp decline, leaving fans and makers disappointed. As per Sacnilk.com On its 12th day, Kanguva managed to earn only Rs 37 lakhs, as per early estimates. The Tamil version brought in Rs 16 lakhs, while the Hindi and Telugu versions collected Rs 13 lakhs and Rs 8 lakhs, respectively. This performance brings the movie’s total Indian earnings to Rs 67.87 crores, still falling short of its Rs 70 crore target.
The first-week earnings stood at Rs 64.3 crores, with significant contributions from the Tamil market (Rs 35.63 crores). However, daily collections have dwindled to lakhs in the second week, casting doubt on the film’s ability to cross its intended milestone.
Kanguva opened to largely mixed reviews, which affected its box office performance from the outset. Jyothika, Suriya's wife, took to Instagram to address the criticism, defending the movie's concept, visuals, and women-centric action sequences. She criticized the negativity surrounding the film, suggesting it overshadowed its innovative elements and technical efforts.
Kanguva Movie Budget
The budget of Kanguva was reportedly Rs 200 crore, making it one of the costliest films in Suriya's career. Despite its high production value, the film’s underperformance has made it challenging to recover the investment solely through its theatrical run.

Kanguva OTT Release
Prime Video has acquired Kanguva's digital streaming rights for an impressive Rs 100 crore. Fans who missed the theatrical experience can catch the film on the OTT platform starting the second week of December, following its four-week theatrical window. While Kanguva showcased grandeur and ambition, the lacklustre box office response highlights the importance of audience reception and strong word of mouth.
